The purpose of the move is to make room for our Frame-Built Bumper System and any winch you may want to install. If you don't plan on running a winch the relocation is not necessary.
Note: According to "sources" the reason Jeep moved the canister from the engine compartment down to the frame rails is that it makes a slight pumping sound and they wanted that sound as far away from the driver as possible.
